• Match project management skills with other resources obtain to deploy or sustain them

 

1980: Formation of the Project Management Special Interest Group (PMSIG):

• Make PM education and networking opportunities readily available and visible

• Disseminating PM best practices that really made a difference in the organizations and the industry at large

• Begin coalescing project leaders into a definable group with its own identity

• Seek out potential pilot projects

• Build core knowledge and practitioners of good sponsorship through presentations and pee-to-peer networks

• Periodically monitor PM penetration into larger organisation to see how well and deeply PM has been deployed
